It is AUGUST! It is unbelievable to me how fast time has went this summer. My weekend went fast as well!!!
Friday, we stayed in and had fresh tomato sandwiches for dinner. Are you even southern if you have never tried one??? Hahaha! Nothing like it on a hot day. I watched a few British Mystery shows I like and my husband piddled around. Hannah worked and Kyle was still visiting his nana in Arkansas.
This past Sunday evening we had a Ladies luau with the church ladies. I have a lady that now helps organize Ladies fellowships here and there. This has been a huge help to me as a Pastor's Wife. The crowd was low because we had a few out sick and traveling but we still had a lovely time. The hostess was so amazing. She has such a relaxing and cozy home. There was so much good food. We did some ice breaker games and the host spoke to us on Joy. It was such a fun time out.
I kicked off Monday traveling to get Kyle. It is a 6 hour round trip! Not too bad but I was glad to be home! Today (Tuesday) we kicked off with our dental cleanings. :( I do not like them. I have very sensitive teeth so it really is not fun for me. But it has to be done. :)
I am not feeling 100 percent today. The kids headed out to spend some time with friends as most everyone starts school later this week or next week so they are wrapping up the summer fun. I decided to catch up on some blogs and do this post. I think I will rest for a bit once I post this.
I have chicken thighs thawing to make for dinner. It will be a simple dinner for sure!! :) I hope you all have a great day!
What is your dinner plans??
Embrace each season,
Chrissy T

Hi Chrissy. I love that Hawaiian party. Looks like a lot of fun. I hope you are feeling better soon. Sometimes it's good to take a day off and rest and relax. See you again soon!
Hello! Thank you for stopping by my blog yesterday! I decided to pay you a visit as well. I cannot believe it's August either! This is my second August of being finished with homeschooling our four sons and it's always weird to not have anything "back to school" to plan for. I don't know that I'll ever get used to that. It looks like you and your friends had a great time together Saturday! That cup of coffee made my mouth water a little. Ha! I am the same with dental appointments and always dread going, even though I LOVE our dentist. We've known him forever and used to go to church with his family. My son used to babysit his son years ago, if that tells you how long we've known him, because now we're 45. That would have been when Todd was about 16, so about 30 years give or take...anyway, I'm always sore after cleanings. Nothing says "welcome to mid-life" like having to take an Ibuprofen after a routine cleaning. 🤣 I'm adding your blog to my blog bookmark list! I'll see you back here soon. Take care!
Good evening Chrissy! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and introducing yourself (so I might do the same!). I'm so sad my 'Southern card' may be in jeopardy. Since 2018, I'm doing my level best to embrace all things Southern, but can't wrap my mind around a 'mater sandwich. (Yet!) Your ladies luau looks like great fun. Before coming here, I'd no idea how wonderful it feels to be welcomed into a sisterhood of like-minded ladies.
I've no idea what's for supper! I never realized the yukky effects of the Shingles vax, but it's got me sidelined. Ah, the cost of Doing Life!
Hi Deb,
It was a blast! Thank you for popping in!!! :)
Hi Jennifer,
Thank you so much for visiting me and commenting!!! :) It means a lot. I loved my visit at your blog. I stayed a while there! :) I will for sure be back!!! Yes, I am feeling this decade of 40 all to well!!!!!!!
Hello! Thank you for visiting me. I have actually had shingles and oh they are for sure not fun!!!! I can understand not feeling well after the vax. I totally understand about that sandwich...lol! It took me years!!!!!
Nice luau you had with friends. I'm relaxing a bit on couch and sopping tea. I need to fold the laundry then make dinner. Need to cook left over roast I thawed yesterday. Most likely cook it in instant pot. Veggies and potatoes as well. Glad you had a safe drive get pick up your son.
Hello there! It was such a fun time!!! I was just thinking that I need to cook a roast of mine. :)
