Hello everyone. Today I was able to venture out for a short HOT minute. This was the first time I have driven in 28 days, I was a tad nervous but I did it! I took my special pillow to wear under my seat belt so it didn't aggravate my incision but I was able to actually remove it and all was fine! I felt like Mrs. Claus driving with that pillow and it was quite silly and uncomfortable. I didn't plan to drive but I was making a recipe and had everything out and preparing it only to discover that my main ingredient was actually not delivered. I didn't realize that because my hubby put the groceries away.
Anyway, I made it and it felt nice to get out. I drove about 5 minutes away through a neighborhood to a Dollar General where it was easy to get in and out. I was glad they had my ingredient.
Speaking of the recipe this is the first time trying this recipe. I chose three simple meals to make this week to get back into the swing of cooking.
Tonight is Slow-Cooker Angel Chicken. Here is the recipe.
I will serve this with green beans and garlic bread. I am making Tacos tomorrow and Roast & Scalloped Potatoes Thursday. In between those meals we will do leftovers or sandwiches which we enjoy in the HOT summer months.
Speaking of HOT it is HOT!!!!! It is currently 94 degrees. No clouds and no wind. JUST HOT! 🌞
The daily photo challenge is COLORFUL, and I am excited to share my summer puzzle I completed yesterday! I rushed it because I want to do my new puzzle. Check out yesterday's post to see what FUN NOSTALIGIC puzzle I am excited about.
Since my puzzle is COLORFUL I thought it would be great to share today for the theme.
It was a simple puzzle truly. I did it in two days. I needed something simple and easy. It is super cute. I enjoyed putting this one together!!!
Just in case you missed yesterday's post I shared this..... I am excited to announce that I have created a September Photo Challenge. I have it all planned out and designed. I will be sharing that it in Mid-August if you would like to participate.
I hope you all have a super rest of your day!!
With Love,
Chrissy T

I bet it was nice to get out for a few minutes. Recipe looks yummy. Perfect puzzle too! Sending love 💕
I know it was good to get out for a few minutes even with the pillow. The recipe looks yummy. Puzzle was perfect and colorful. Sending love from Mom
Looks like a fun puzzle and it certainly is colorful. Great choice for the challenge.
Hooray for you getting out on your own. You're making good progress.
That chicken looks good. I've saved the recipe.
I am glad that you were able to drive to get another item for your meal today and found it quickly. I enjoy going to Dollar General as they have a lot of items that I use. There were more clouds that were connected to fires going on in eastern Oregon this morning and now more sunshine this afternoon. There are a lot of firefighters that are helping, even from Cal Fire from California. I hope they go well and are safe and people living in various areas. Prayers for sure!! Have a good week!!!
I love your puzzle, Chrissy. The colours are lovely.
I love a crockpot meal. I am so happy you were able to get out on your own.
Congratulations on being able to get out and drive, even if only for a couple of miles. One step at a time! I do understand about the pillow situation...it definitely sounds like you had the same surgery that I had back in 2001! (I can't believe it's been 25 years ago already!) I'm living proof that you WILL get better and get back to "normal" soon. You are doing great...baby steps, but you will get there. Oh, that chicken dish sounds really good! And I LOVE that little puzzle you did! Perfect for colorful picture day! It's so cute!! Yes, stay cool in this very hot weather! It's been pretty hot here, but finally we are getting more pop up thunderstorms in the afternoons to at least dampen things a bit. Take care and keep moving forward one step at a time. Blessings to you today.
I am so glad the first drive went well! Your puzzle is pretty.
How great that you could get out and drive even if it was just 5 minutes away. That Angel Chicken sounds good and I have found using the slow cooker keeps the kitchen cooler. Good job with the puzzle.
Well done on the driving. That's weird, isn't it? I couldn't drive for six weeks and that first time back I felt rather odd. I'm glad you have gained that part back. Even if you don't go anywhere, it's so good to know you can.
Boy, I love crock pot meals too. The chicken looks yummy. Don't you just hate it when getting ready to make something and finding out that the main thing isn't there? It has happened to me too often. I get in a cooking rut and do the same things over and over. Then I forget to resupply... I guess its definitely Old Age creeping ... no, .. its going gang busters (:0)
Glad you are able to get out for a bit. That does so much for the mind set.
My big adventure today is going to Kaiser for my bi-annual diabetic retinal screening. I don't have diabetes but the doctor wants to update my records. Used to be prediabetic before loosing 75 pounds. Doctor keeps tabs on me for which I am thankful.

Small steps will get you there. Well done with the driving, it can be a bit scary getting back into it. I remember buying one of my daughters a strawberry shortcake sponge bag and filling it with goodies one year for a gift. She wasn't impressed with the bag as she was in her 20's :)
YAY you were able to get out for a bit. Your recipe looked good. Will need to try this recipe. Puzzle is cute too. Janice
