Hello!! 🌞
Here in the deep south of Mississippi on June 1st, it was 93 but the weather said it felt like 96'F! Yep... already HEATING UP!
I am thankful for air conditioning! Unfortunately, we have to get a new unit installed Friday! I am thankful we were able to get a plan for the $11,000 unexpected event. We will pay it in full in August. Wowza! We kind of knew it was coming BUT definitely not at this moment. It is working but it has to be replaced before it finally bites the dust, and it is barely chugging.
For all you people who hate feet you will not like this image... but..... 😆😆😆
Anyhoo.... I sit outside every afternoon for about 15-20 minutes to soak up some Vit D since I am low in that vitamin this year. I usually do not have an issue because I am always walking, hiking, and exploring outdoors but for the past 6 months it has been limited.
I do enjoy sitting outside with a glass full of crushed ice water, head tilted toward the sun and birds chirping. It was pretty HOT though yesterday, so I didn't sit out but maybe 10 minutes. I had already pushed myself a little earlier in the day and I could feel that I was getting super weak and tired!
In other news.... I have FINALLY FINISHED my National Park Diamond Art Coasters Kit that our youngest son's girlfriend (Carleigh) had gifted me for Christmas. I love them. I didn't quite like how the Arches Nat'l Park turned out but the rest I love.
I think my favorite ones are the Grand Canyon and Yosemite. I just really liked how they turned out.
I am chipping away at my puzzle I want to do for my Spring Bucket List.
I have actually accomplished a little more since I last took this picture on Sunday afternoon.
Monday, I had to go to the store to get some very much needed toiletry items like shampoos, soaps, and things like that. We were out of a lot of things. I usually do not get low but due to my "bed" resting I just haven't kept up with it. I have moved now from complete bed rest, to light slow activity now until my surgery on the 22nd of this month. Woohoo. Unless I start hemorrhaging heavily again.
It is that time of year that I needed to replace the HEAVIER bedding with a summer quilt. My husband mentioned he was getting really hot with our Fall/Winter bedding. I forget sometimes because I only use white bedding and since it is light colored, I forget the weight of the blankets. I typically sleep on top of the covers with a tiny light thin quilt because I have hot flashes. LOL! Without further ado it was time to replace it and get the bed all fresh!
All good, fresh and lighter!! Ready for the hot months ahead. Hubby mowed the grass after work yesterday and I did the bedding. It was still 90 degrees at 5:30-6:00 pm so we wanted something cooler for dinner. I made up some chicken salad out of some rotisserie chicken we had left over from the weekend.
It was good and hit the spot.
We usually put chicken salad on croissants, but it was kind of unplanned, so we enjoyed it on basic white bread. We tend to eat a lot lighter and less warm meals in the evenings during the summer months when it comes to supper/dinner. We will eat maybe a tad heavier lunch instead.
I have been enjoying slow evening strolls to strengthen myself for surgery and to promote better circulation. I love the sky in the evening!!
It is time to wrap up this post and before I do I want to say Happy June!!! Blessings to you all!

I'm sorry about the air conditioning. What would we do without it though? Even in Mich, I'd be lost. I do remember not having it when we were first married and hating to cook when it was so hot.
Love the coasters!
That puzzle looks like a delightful, cozy town... just the kind of puzzle I love! Sorry about the unexpected expense ... those are not fun!
Eek! That is hot, we had those temps last week but with no air conditioning and it was not fun! Sitting outside sounds lovely. It's wet and grey here at the moment and has been for a couple of days. Hmmf. Those coasters are so pretty and the chicken salad looks good.
I am glad you are getting outside and getting some fresh air and sunshine. That is importatnt, even when it's so hot. I do understand that! And WOW on that new AC. I'm glad you are able to get it done because I know how much a necessity it is, but wow, that's a chunk! Your diamond art coasters are beautiful! That was a lot of work! Your bed looks lovely and comfy too. And yes, l love lighter suppers in the summer time. I need to remember to plan that way. Praying for you as you prepare for your surgery. We know God's got you covered, but we will still pray!! (((HUGS)))
wow...everything is so expensive, all the things we need. food in our area has gotten very expensive and the boxes and containers are much smaller than in the past. i can't be in the sun unless i can be in our pool. the sun has a huge negative impact on me. (MS) i LOVE homemade chicken salad and always make it with leftover rotisserie chicken. we eat very light during the summer, lots of fresh, uncooked vegetables and salads!!
Happy June my Friend! So sorry about the pain of the air conditioning situation. It's alway something with a household, isn't it? Very frustrating. I pray you're able to stay cool with what you have until then. It sure sounds like you're using your chill time wisely and accomplishing very fun things! I LOVE the coasters. They're so pretty!! Keep taking good care of yourself my Friend. Blessings to you💗
Your surgery date has been noted, and I will continue to pray. For some reason, I was thinking that you were recovering from surgery. I will now be asking the Lord to strengthen and prepare your body for the surgery, along with a good recovery period.
Hi Chrissy! I saw your comment over on Billie Jo's post and thought I would come say hello. I hope you don't mind another follower :)
Sorry to hear you have to replace your AC. Doesn't come cheap. We don't even have AC! We really don't need it here. Over head fans and open windows keep us pretty cool in the woods.
Beautiful diamond art coasters, Chrissy. And lovely jigsaw puzzle.
Please stay safe! Having no air conditioning in extreme heat is very dangerous! Drink plenty of water (even with air conditioning) and stay out of the heat as much as you can.
I love your crafty coasters! That diamond art is on my list to try. My daughter and I were looking at a few patterns last Christmas at Michael's, but they were huge. I wasn't sure I was up for a big project since it was new to me. The AC replacement is an expensive bummer, but a necessity. I know ours is on borrowed time, too. I have my fingers crossed it makes it through this summer...yikes.
Happy June to you too Chrissie. I hope its a good month for all of us. Its winter here but still not as cold as it will get. Sorry to read you are having such hot temps already - I don't enjoy the heat so much. Your coasters turned out so wonderful, they look great. xx
So sorry to hear about the air conditioner! Your chicken salad looks delicious. I tend to eat a lot of salads-- tossed salad with pasta salad.. things like that in the summer.
My brother lived in Mississippi for many years but moved back to Maine a few years ago. We do not have air conditioning here in NH and sometimes we need it! But the days are few. We do have a portable one for the bedroom if needed. It is 56 and breezy here this morning but going to 80s. I take a vit D pill every day. Glad you are doing well.
Cathy
Goodness that is some expensive ac! I cannot complain about our replacement last year (and the year before...we have two units). As thankful as I am for the ac, I do love sitting outside for some vitamin D. Not at all interested in a tan but I love some sun in my eyes! Happy June to you!!
Cooking is a NO GO with no air in Mississippi. LOL!
I love the puzzle. It has been one of the trickier ones I have done in a while. It is so cozy looking.
We need some wet and grey here!! It has been less humid thankfully!
Thank you!!!!
We eat the same in the summer. Our stomach just doesn't handle heavy meals after a long hot day. EVERY single thing is expensive. Even a bag of chips. LOL
Hello!! Welcome!!! I absolutely do not mind at all. I just visited your blog and I am following too!!!!! Thank you for popping in.
Carrie,
Thank you so much for your encouraging and kind comment. I always love your comments and visits!!!! Hugs.
That sounds so lovely to not have to have air. When we went to Colorado they didn't have air in the place we stayed. My daughter moved there for an internship and she didn't have air. It does take a little time to get use to because we are so use a "flow" and more than a fan "flow" but after a few days we were good.
Thank you so much!!!!!!!
All is good now! I drank a lot of water and headed out of the home in the hottest parts of the day. I am glad it is fixed now. I am a bit behind in comments.
Oh my! I know... we kept hoping every summer the last 4 summers it would keep on keeping on. But it said no longer this year. LOL
Hello Julie!!! Oh, I do not like hot bad humid heat. It makes me miserable. LOL! Add a hot flash and it is a disaster for all. HAH!
Cathy,
Thank you!! I cannot imagine not having air but if you have cooler temps and less humidity I could understand. Humidity is what does me in. You can get dressed and ready for the day and in 2 minutes of walking outside you are damp and wet from the humid air.
Oh, I love a good ole pasta salad!!!!!!!!!!
Same!! There is nothing like soaking up some sun in my face and eyes!!
