When the Bucket List Needs a Makeover....

Life happens. Things Change. Curve balls come. When I was younger in the earlier part of marriage and motherhood, I would get quite upset when change happened. I am kind of a stickler for routines and flows. I know. LOL!  I have learned a lot with age! 😆😆

Something happens as you get older and you realize life is a lot more joyful if you just grab your seat and go with it. It may get bumpy, wild, hard, fun, crazy, wonderful and tearful all in one go. One thing for sure is that things CHANGE.

I had my made my beautiful, curated Spring Bucket List and shared it with you all when spring kicked off. Well, some things changed for me physically and besides letting this rain on my Spring Bucket List Parade I have decided it just simply needs a makeover.

I think sometimes we have a hard time saying, "that isn't going to work" and start over. Sometimes it just has to be done. It usually works out for the better most of the time.

I know that most people (including all my family and most friends) think Memorial Day is the kick off to Summer starting, but I am one of those purist 😅 that really clings from ONE SEASON TO THE NEXT and because I go by dates not holidays or weather I still have plenty of time to get some things on my Bucket List done before Summer hits and before my surgery!

I have until June 21st 3:24 a.m. (central time in USA) 😆 My surgery is June 22nd. SIGH!!!!!!!!!!!! 😞

Here is my previous bucket list....

As you can tell I have done TWO! LOL! Well, life happened right after I made this list. Some of it seems pretty simple but with my current situation physically most is a no go, or it needs to be made with some accommodations.

Here is my more simplistic and modified NEW ONE filled with things I feel I could pull off and if not.... OH well! It will be alright! Life will continue and I will be just fine. 😆

A lot of these may seem super simplistic compared to my other one but it is what I feel I can do and it brings me a little joy thinking of some of the ways I can make all these things happen. I can combine a few of these things so that will be neat and fun!!! Like I can drive to a new to me state park and have a picnic. Boom. :)

Have you done things on your spring bucket list? Are you planning for summer already? Do you even do bucket lists? Not everyone does and some may think it is silly, but I do like having a plan to really do some fun simple things here and there. It makes life more shall I say JOYFUL!

Until Next Time,

Chrissy T

I think that's a good redo of your bucket list. Glad you have a surgery date, but I wish you didn't have to wait so long.

I go by the calendar too! I have several more weeks to finish up my spring bucket list.. though I am thinking of things I might want to add to my summer bucket list. I'm doing really well with my spring list. I have one item I'll cross off tomorrow and another should be crossed off on Sunday (seeing Lion King with Alec and going to Maine with my husband). Then I'm really not sure what is left to cross off.

You are an amazing Lady taking it all in stride and with grace. Love that you still see the gratitude in it all and just decided to pivot to a new plan. Still so much fun and beauty to enjoy. :) Wishing you blessings on marking off the rest of your Spring plans dear Friend. xoxo💗

I think that it is a great idea to change your bucket list as you need too.

I love your new bucket list. It is even something I might be able to do! LOL. We already had a picnic...our church Memorial Day Picnic. But hubby and I may take a sandwich to a park and eat it someday...hopefully before it gets too hot and buggy. I am doing more reading lately in the evenings. I really don't make a bucket list...I just have to go with the flow and see how things work out. I am praying for you that you will enjoy these days prior to your surgery, and then that the surgery will be totally successful and that you will be able to recuperate comfortably and maybe even continue to do some of the bucket list things if you didn't get them done before. reading and puzzles will be something you can do. Just relax and let God do the planning...His plans are the best.

Lots of good things to do on your bucket list.
I also go by the calendar for the seasons. They come around so fast I like to hold on to the previous season as long as I can.
I don't really have bucket list.

Good for you - being flexible and willing to redo your list. Like you, back in the day...having a crimp in my well-laid plans could put me in a tailspin (one of the reasons I stopped meal planning - if meatloaf was on the menu for Monday and no one wanted meatloat...if was not pretty!! ugh)! I am trying to be more flexible but it is taking a lot of trying!!

Chrissy, I am sorry that you are going to need surgery, but it does sound as though when you did the "redo" of your Spring Bucket List you had recovery in mind and that is just SO wise! I will be praying for you, my sweet friend. xx

I go by the calendar too, not the holidays. Too many people rush the seasons...especially fall. Oh, it drives me crazy when people start looking for fall in August. I don't do bucket lists/goals, but it's great you could just go with the flow and readjust your list.

I do hope you find a waterfall to view and enjoy. The water is relaxing and calm, and the views are beautiful. I have one close by that I go to in every season. You have already completed some of these things on your bucket list. Picnics are always delightful - I hope you do that one. ; )
