Oh, the WONDER of a Sunset & a Walking Path

Hello everyone. I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I had a slow and quiet weekend. I did get out Sunday evening for a stroll. I needed it to just take a slow walk. I enjoyed the little path that I went to up the road from me.

The walking path was filled all along it. Bushes and bushes. They will probably be ripe next week.

I remember one time my husband and I went and picked a bunch of berries close to my mother in law's home, and she made berry dumplings with them. IT WAS DELISH! I am not sure of the recipe because a lot of things she did was from her on concoctions. Carolyn was a wonderful cook. She made the best fried okra I have ever tasted. I also never had rice pudding until she made it one evening and it was superb. I love it to this day. But really, I have never tasted it like the way she made it.

As I was leaving I noticed this beautiful sunset. It was like a watercolor painting. So, I did what any sunset chasing crazy lady would do.... I rolled my windows down and drove towards the sunset to capture all I could.

I pulled over in a safe parking lot and took these next pictures. I just thought it was magnificent. There are no filters on any of these pictures. This is just a basic photo off an old cellphone. :)

I sat there until it totally almost went down. I just love how beautiful sunsets are!!! It is like the earth sighs and gets ready for sleep (well part of the earth anyways) and it just makes you feel like it is tucking in to say goodnight.

Slowly and slowly, it sets! It was such a lovely evening. Psalm 19:1 " “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.”

I have not caught many sunrises in my life, but I always catch sunsets. I love them. Some of my most memorable ones are on a vacation to Petit Jean Mountain in Arkansas. Oh, I will have to find that picture and share it. It was marvelous.

The second one was St. Mark's Nature Preserve in Floridia this past September. It was breathtaking.

The third one was on Dania Beach, Floridia.

I am sure there are more, but these are the most memorable.

Are you a sunrise, sunset or beautiful sky chaser? In other words, do the skies and all the glory of them stop you in your tracks?

Until Next Time.... go watch a sunrise or sunset!

I so love sunrises and sunsets. When I was working, I would often see sunrises as I drove in and it was such a perfect way to start the day. I love sunsets too, and the best ones are when we are by Lake Mich. We have lots of trees around our house so we can't see them from home.
Your description of the earth sighing and getting ready for sleep just warmed my heart. I will always think of that now when I see one.
I'm glad you got to get out and enjoy a walk and see this sunset too. It's good for you!
PS- I told you I ordered that prayer book after you talked about it. I really liked it. I'm going to order it for a few friends.

Hi Chrissy, I absolutely love ❤️ sunsets 🌇
Beautiful series of captures. I also love to take long walks in nature, I find it therapeutic both for my physical and mental health.

A beautiful sunset. I like both, a stunning sunrise gives promise for the day ahead and a glorious sunset makes you sigh with pleasure for the day that's just been.

What a beautiful place for a walk and sunset. Your mother in law sounded like a wonderful cook! I've not seen many sunrises either but I do love watching the sun set.

I love how you compared the sunset to the earth sighing and getting ready for sleep-- that image will stay with me.
Your captures are breathtaking!

What a gorgeous sunset. I once saw the sun rise in Lake Huron and a freighter was passing right in front of it. Wish I had a camera then. Wild berries are the BEST! I have some in my yard. Janice

Skies can stop me! And it doesn't matter the time of day, though I rarely see the sunrise. You are so right about a nature path!

I love both sunrises and sunsets. Before our "Still Waters Pond" went dry, we would get the most gorgeous sunsets reflecting on the pond. I have a LOT of pictures. We still get the sunsets, but they aren't quite as stunning as they were with the reflections on the water. Someday the pond will come back, I am praying. Sunsets I see when I put out our American flag each morning on the front porch. I love how God paints such beauty in His skies. Yes, I have been know to drive to see them...oh yes! I "drive" my hubby crazy with them! LOL. I hope you are feeling better. Been praying for you.

Just beautiful Chrissie. I love sunsets too. When I go out at dusk looking for my older black cat in the paddocks there are glorious sunsets & I always forget to take my camera to snap some pics. I do stand with him in my arms & tell him about Gods wonderful creations though - not sure that he listens 😉xx

I like both, sunrises and sunsets. Sunrises when I walk in the morning and sunsets from my front porch! Walks are always on my agenda!! :). Beautiful photos of your walk.
