Hello everyone! Today I worked on Thank You cards and making my wax seals for them. I really enjoyed making my seals. It has been since Christmas since I have made them. I usually make some up in advance so I can easily add them to cards. Here are a few I made today. Toward the end I also painted some to enhance the imprint and they turned out great. I did not get a pic of those.
I use two methods. I use a glue gun method (my preferred way) as well as an electric wax melting gadget (better for just one or two seals). I usually work with the glue gun mostly because you can make more at a time and they come out better looking to me. I had a lot to make today so after using the electric gadget I switched to the glue gun method.
I did a few different ones today! I went back and forth using some of this stamp, a sunflower and a thank you stamp.
I mean how can you not love these illustrations! This book has some neat quotes, artwork, sayings that hit the heart in a joyful Chicken Soup for the Soul kind of way. Perfect for summer!! There are a few recipes I would like to try one day.
SPEAKING OF SUMMER.... IF YOU ARE FROM THE SOUTH (USA)... THEN YOU KNOW!!! Is it REALLY SUMMER if you do not have a good OLE' Mater Sammy?! Today's daily photo theme is Fruits or Vegetables. So, here is the PHOTO OF THE DAY!! I enjoyed this delish sandwich for lunch and also ate the remainder of the tomato to the side. This is straight from a garden from a man in our church who loves to share his bounty!
I love cracking fresh pink Himalayan salt and ground pepper on the tomato!!! Oh, summer sandwich perfection!!!
Here is the PHOTO CHALLNGE LIST.
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your weekend!!!
With Love,
Chrissy T

DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI am commenting on your blog and trying to join the Photo a Day Challenge from Pamela's blog Closed Doors Opened Windows.
I don't think I can do every day but I do think this will be fun to challenge myself.
Love your blog.

Thanks for popping by!
DeleteWhat tasty looking tomato!!! Delicious. The seals you made are really nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen.
DeleteSo which is it? A fruit or a vegetable...the "mater", that is. I just took some pictures of my "maters" still on the vine, thinking I need to get that photo challenge done for the 11th even though it is now the 12th. They say that technically it is a fruit, but I will always think of it as a vegetable. I mean, you don't put tomatoes in a fruit salad do you? You don't cook fruits and make a sauce for spaghetti, do you? Or soup? So, regardless of what they say, it will always be a vegetable to me. Oh, I do love Susan Branch, and have her calendars each year (a gift from a dear blogging friend). And your seals are so beautiful. I assume those cards are not going in the mail? Can you mail them like that? Just wondering. They are so pretty. I hope you continue to get stronger day by day. Yes, rest when you start to feel weary...don't overdo it. It too me well over 8 weeks to get totally well after my same surgery. There's a lot of internal healing taking place, and you don't want to rush it! Your future depends on it!! (((HUGS))). God is working in you, and He will heal you completely.
ReplyDeleteThank you friend!
DeleteOh your wax seals are just gorgeous Chrissie. This is one craft I haven't tried & would love to have a go. I'll put it on "the list". I love Susan Branch too - I had one of her calendars years ago & it was so beautiful. Keep resting & taking care Chrissie. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie!!!
DeleteLove that wax seals! What a great way to personalize your mailings.
ReplyDeleteAh, tomatoes, we are a ways away from eating those fresh from the garden. I have green babies that I make sure to check on each day.
Have a great week!
They are so good. Nothing like a fresh tomato!
DeleteHow fun is that seal?! Now I want one!! ☺️
ReplyDeleteI love doing them so much!! You need one! :)
DeleteYour tomato sandwich looks wonderful! So good of your church friend to share his produce with you. Those wax seals are beautiful. And they really add a nice touch to cards and letters. You don't see this art that often any more.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I enjoy doing cards and letters. I wish others did as well! :)
