Cakes and Flowers... a Whimsy Collide

Hello everyone! I am sorry for my lack of daily posts. I need a little break from daily posting so I am posting as I can. I posted Monday several images and asked if you would guess what I was researching and pondering. You all had some great guesses! Here is that post!

Today, I thought I would share these beautiful images!!! NONE OF THESE ARE MY IMAGES! ALL SAVED FROM PINTEREST FOR INSPIRATION.

I can't handle all this CREATIVE WHIMSY!!!!  Here are some more magical cake and flower love!

I came across these lovely ideas where cakes and flowers collide! What wonderful creativity.  I love cake and I love flowers. I always do a fun birthday cake for myself. LOL! My daughter does them for me. Hannah likes to know a few months in advance what I want. She worked and managed a bakery for years. I also love to have ideas for the tea times I do for church and friends.

Here is my cake from last year! She couldn't have done a better job. It was a surprise party at church for me.

Hannah did a wonderful job! I wanted a nature type cake. She did it perfectly!!!! I was so proud of her. But the BEST thing it was DELISH!!!

I want to try one of these flower cakes! Have you ever eaten edible flowers? I have had a few. I can say some are okay. Some taste exactly the way you imagine.... grassy. 😜

I have tried a hibiscus, lavender, pea flower, and pansy. I can say I am not a fan of them all but did I like the hibiscus and pea flower. I like pea flower the most.

How fun and whimsical these cakes are!!!

Have you ever had a cake like this??

Until Next Time,

Chrissy T

The cakes you have showcased from Pinterest are great-- as is the one your daughter made you last year! My middle son is my baker and he's been making my birthday cake for the last few years too. I tend to focus more on the tastes I want-- dark chocolate/raspberry or mocha, etc and let him get as creative as he wants with the decorating (admittedly he doesn't really enjoy the decorating part). But I've never had edible flowers. I mean I'm sure I've been served them but I tend to just pick them out.

I love the cake your daughter made for you! That was so cute...with the little mushrooms on a log! I love all those pretty flowery cakes, and the one with the teacup on it was great! I'd never attempt to make anything like that, but I'd love to have one made for me, except I'd hate to cut it! I've never eaten any flowers on cake, but still I'd love to see what they were like. This was a delightful way to start my morning. Thank you!!!

Hannah did an awesome job with the cake she made you. All of the others were very nice too. I have not eaten a cake with edible flowers on it so not sure if I would like it. If given a slice would probably just remove the flower thinking it was non edible anyway. LOL Janice

Don't apologise for taking a break from posting. Real life comes first. What pretty pictures and beautiful cakes! Your cake from last year looks fab! I have never eaten edible flowers but I do imagine they taste grassy. lol

Hannah is very talented, that cake is gorgeous! I had edible flowers once, they were ok. But they sure do make a lovely decoration.

They are all such beautiful cakes - and I love the whimsy too! But the cake your daughter made is STUNNING! I have had lavender and rose and yes, sometimes good- sometimes soap. Lol But I have also used lilacs to make lilac sugar (they are edible too if you weren't aware). And I used the sugar to make lilac shortbread that was wonderful! If you go through my recipe tab you can find it. ;)

That nature inspired cake is amazing! Wow! I once bought a cake topper to hold flowers. I've only used it once but seeing all of those flowered cakes makes me want to take it out and put some flowers on a cake again!

Hannah did an amazing job with the cake! SO fun! My favorite bloom to eat is the blossoms from squash plants. They make a delicious quesadilla! My first time eating one was when I was visiting my daughter and son-in-law in Mexico City and when I came home, I had to give it a go on my own. Now we enjoy them every gardening season.
