Hello everyone. We have had some lovely warm days. Matter of fact we had days of 80's this weekend. Things are in bloom and birds are just as chirpy as ever BUT.................
DO NOT LET THESE BLOOMS & BEAUTIFUL SUNNY SKIES FOOL YOU.....
IT IS COLD! IT IS WINDY AND WE HAVE A HARD FREEZE ON THE WAY TONIGHT!!!
This happens every single year. Things will bloom and people will begin to plant things and then we have a freeze mid-March every single year. It causes damage and issues for landscaping and is brutal on our trees in our area. Last year our Azalea bushes and Crepe Myrtles were severely damaged by an ice storm that NOBODY expected. It was 88 one day and the next it was 18 and ice.
Today's high is 40 but feels like 19 due to our wind. So, while it says 40 the weather man says it is feeling 19 degrees and we will drop into the low 20's. Now, I know some of you that are still in the throes of cold are probably saying that is nothing BUT here in the deep south where yesterday was 81 and today feels like this... it a big shock. :)
Oh, well it is still beautiful!!! I will take it either way. I love cold!! So, I am good! :) I just hope we do not lose our Azaleas completely and my rose bushes that have bloomed.
If you like birds and identifying birds I want to share a FREE app (not sponsored) just something I thought I would share, it is called Merlin Bird ID. I love this app. I downloaded it last year and then my mom and I went camping and had so much fun identifying bird sounds and looking for the bird with our binoculars.
Here is a link to the website and you can find out more about their ID app as well. It is TOTALLY FREE and so EASY & ENJOYABLE! My mom loves sitting on the porch listening and identifying birds. Just thought I would share a fun tool I like to use!!!! OHHH... you can also download FREE BOOKMARKS!! Check this pdf here.

It was in the 70's yesterday and then there were snow showers this morning. Such is spring!
Have a great week!
Oh that is such a hard call; if the roads end up being find you'll kick yourself for not going but if the roads are awful you'll end up wishing you had just stayed home. I hate when that happens and often hope for some sign if I should go or not.
Yes for sure. :)
I know!!!! Like I need a sign!!! LOLOL!!!!
What a beautiful sky photo. And I really like the quote, "listen to the birds, not just the news," as I am a bird lover as well. About your trip, I will whisper a prayer for you right now. : )
Thank you!!!!! :)
Oh you photos feed my soul dear Friend! Altho, it helps me pout less knowing even the South gets false Spring like we do in the north. Lol Thanks for sharing about the bird app - I love them and am trying to get better at identifying them. Blessings on your week ahead. xo
I understand!! I love the look of all the snow you show, but I think I would be ready for spring too!!!! I hope you will try the app! I love it. ;)
Hard decision. You'll probably not make up your mind till the last minute.
We can't plant things here till after memorial day. I've learned to listen to that rule too, the hard way. :)
It sounds like you are having typical spring weather Chrissie - often four seasons in one day it seems & the temps are always up & down. We get the spring winds here too, though we are having lovely gentle autumn days this week here.
I do hope you make the decision that suits YOU regarding the tiny house trip. Sometimes we just have to lose some money for our safety. xx
Praying for the Lord's wisdom for your tough decision, Chrissy. And I DO understand how awful the cold weather is in the south. It is nothing like living in the north. To have such extreme weather changes, is so awful. Please stay warm, and praying your bushes survive! Blessings to you!
Julie,
Yes, it is a hard decision! We have some bad winds here today!!!!
I have learned the hard way too!!!! :)
Blessings sweet friend. I am so glad to have you visit!!
Pretty flowers. I pretty much know the bird calls here, but a nice app for sure. Can you bring some of that heat North? Janice
Hi Chrissy, That first picture with the blue skies and the tree... a breath of fresh air. I'm thinking you might live in a bit of a warmer climate than I do based on the flowers on those bushes. We still have bits and piles of snow here in CT... but it will all melt away soon! Hope you had a great start to your week. ~Tara
We have similar weather here, last year the frost killed all the flowers of my peaches, plums, apples, pears, walnuts... I didn't pick a single fruit. The damage to the vegetables is less because I'm waiting for that strange early spring weather to pass and then the spring sowing begins. I hope there won't be any frost this year and that I'll pick at least a few nice sweet peaches from my garden.
It does look like you have had some beautiful weather and the flowers are looking so pretty. We've had weather like that recently, it looks like a summers day but it's still chilly!
Oh I hope you are on your way to your little retreat! I do hope it worked out for you. Think of all the bird watching:) I do enjoy the birds, their singing and bird-chirpy weather!!:)
Beautiful photos, dear Chrissy. Listen to the birds, indeed.
Oh boy, that's a tough one. The weather has been so temperamental lately, it's really hard to plan. It was so rainy and windy here yesterday, several trees came done and power was lost. I hope you are safe and keep us posted!
I understand how hard it is for you to make a decision regarding the Tiny Home trip...especially with the weather changing so drastically from one day to another. I'm in WV and we have been having beautiful weather until the wind started blowing and it cooled everything off. Our high today was 27 and we had a few inches of snow...and all the while there's sitting under that snow many bushes and trees that were in bud before the snow. God is still on His throne, and He still knows our needs. I shall pray for you to be at peace with whatever decision you end up making.
No weather judgement from me. I'm in the Laurel Highlands of southwestern PA (also the Appalachians) and our temperatures dropped 40 degrees from yesterday to today AND we got snow!
Thank you, by the way, for your prayers for my family.
Janice,
I sure would if I could!! :)
Yes, I am def in the deeper south of the US! Hope you have a great week too!
Oh, I would love some good peaches!!!
Thank you!! I love them. They survived last night!!!!
I ended up I am going!! :)
Amen! The Birds are the best!
I ended up going!!! :) I took a chance!!
Thank you so much!! :)
Absolutely, Stacy, I am still praying and often think of your daughter!
