Hello Friends!! It is Tuesday Tea! I am posting a Tea I went to the past December (2025). It was hosted at The Martha Vick House in Vicksburg, MS. This house was built for the founder of Vicksburg's daughter. It is considered a Greek revival style mini mansion for the time it was built. Martha's parents died and left her to raise 8 of her siblings. The home is a quaint and lovely place. This is my second time attending the Tea here. My friend Jen and I have been here twice for the Holiday season.
I just loved these heads on the mantle. (weird, I know)
This was a new addition to the decor this year. They had very similar decor and set up in the past. I just thought these were so neat!
This is my TEA FRIEND (Jen) and her daughter, Hannah joined us this time.
This was a table set up in the porch area. We sat here last year and it was nice looking out to the gardens in the back. This year we were seated in a different room. It was nice but I really like this area more.
Our menu! I will be honest and say the food was not the best. The sandwiches were very and I mean very stale and dry. Last year was the same way and we discovered they premade things days in advance. You can taste that. They also didn't give us an option for different teas so that was a little disappointing.
My teacup that was at my place. It was very pretty. I always love when I go to these Teas and see what cup I will have.
Here is another area that was set up. Once, again this wasn't our area though. But I absolutely love the window covering!!!
This was one of the highlights I did like. This year they had Pear Rosemary Spritzers before the Tea started and a get to know you. This was actually very good! I loved the experience.
This was our table. My favorite thing about Teas that we go to is getting to know other ladies. Normally, when we go, we are seated with random people and I love it. There were ladies we met last year and we just so happened to sit by them this year too. They remembered us! We had a nice time.
Little more closer pictures. I am allergic to nuts and they were super accommodating and gave me extra of the nut free things. So, I review our food when I share these posts. As I mentoined earlier, it was definitely not the freshest and while could have had great potential the lack of freshness and too many unique flavors really brought this food review down.
Savories section I didn't care for much other than the Cucumber Canape.
Scones- the gingerbread scones saved the day with the clotted cream
Sweets- cream cheese cranberry tea cake was good
To wrap this post up.... it isn't always about the food. Although, your lady loves some food. BUT it is about the fellowship, the connection, the experience, and I wouldn't trade that. I enjoy the tradition of doing this with my friend. We may or may not stopped by Chick Fil A and ate on the way home after the event. HAHA!!!
Lastly, here we are....
Thanks for tagging along on my Tea Adventures. Oh, and the tea they served was a Rooibos Tea. It was pretty good. :)

Oh, I am so sorry the food wasn't the best, but it sounds like the atmosphere and fellowship with other ladies was wonderful. I love going to formal tea parties, although I really haven't had too many such experiences, and to me, it's more about the atmosphere than the food! I just love the china/tea ware, and being served elegantly, and perhaps even dressing up special for the occasion...especially wearing a hat! To me that's the best part! And yes, stopping somewhere to get some "real food" on the way home is always an option if needed, but it doesn't take the place of the lovely experience that you just had even if the food wasn't stellar. Sometimes when I am in such a place I am really just too excited with everything around me to really care if I actually eat or not! LOL. Thank you for sharing it all with us. It really looks like a beautiful place!
What a fun adventure! Nice to go with friends, but then meet new people too. I'm sorry about the food though. Hopefully they change and make things fresh. It looks like a beautiful place!
Not fun when you are excited for a trip and it is a bad experience. I hate being disappointed when going to events. t lest you were in good company even if the sandwiches were stale. Janice
Yes, the memories and the experiences are the top thing for sure. My friend and I have fun with food reviews, so we always share our thoughts. :) I would not change the experience for not amount of food. It was such a beautiful time.
It was such a nice time!! I love connecting with people that have similar interests. It is so fun to come back every year curious if they will be there and then get to catch up if they are.
Hah! I definitely had good company! We giggled about the sandwiches secretly. HAHAH!!!
