Hello friends. I am here! I made it to Friday! Blogged every single day!! But to be honest, the more I am reading other blogs, the more I blog daily, the more.... I just feel blocked. As in why in the world am I blogging!! I have so intensely (yes, that is the word) have enjoyed blogging this week. Honestly, it kept me accountable every single day to get up and move, to putter around the home, to find things to capture to share and I needed (need) that this time of year.
BUT......
Our city is actually a good size (population 30,000 plus) but we still have a small part that is dedicated to the beginnings and the founding buildings. It is known as Olde Towne Brick Streets. They decorate for Holidays and I love the cozy of it. Lots of Hallmark and Lifetime movies are filmed here.
BACK TO THE BUT....
I began to feel outdated. I have been on and off the blog scene since 2004 and whenever I do come back, I always blog like the "old days" but to be honest.... I liked it better. I treasure those days and wish a lot of the times it was still like that. I enjoy visiting blogs that represent that. I tend to stick with those because they feed my soul, bring a smile, and make me enjoy this hobby of blogging.
We have all sorts of old murals that I always love seeing when I come down to this area. I decided to take a 20 minute walk yesterday in this area as I was in between task. I had errands and a mentor lunch date with another young girl. It was so refreshing!!!
As much as I have tried to be more modern, updated, and in with the times..... I just always go back to this style. For some reason it has gnawed at me the last week that maybe my blog isn't interesting. Why would anyone care what I am sharing about my little ole life in the deep south.
I was thinking maybe it is just time to hang it up for good. Just let it go and shut the door. But then I evaluated what my heart felt. How I felt this week. How it brought me joy to record my days. I love looking back my days. It helps me when I have the lows and highs. It is like a fun personal diary!
This tree was on my walk, and it was fantastical!!! I loved all its gnarly branches and I wish I could really show you the massive nature of this beast of a tree. It is so random in the middle of our little Olde Town area. It has moss spreading all over it. It looks as if it is something out of a majestic forest.
Today, I had a little block. I almost didn't post. I had a lot of negative self-talk. But as I got to thinking..... who am I doing this for. If it makes me smile and makes me feel motivated and I have a core few of likeminded souls that pop by then to me, it is worth it. I am going to just keep on keeping on for now...
P.S. ~ This is not meant to be a negative post. Just a real one. I believe in transparency. I believe in authentically sharing the highs and lows of life and blogging. I am not looking for comments or anything I just simply wanted to document how I am feeling currently! Because I know I will look back and smile and be thankful I keep sticking with this place of memory keeping. :)
With Love,
Chrissy T

I tend to like old school blogs the best as it gives me a real look into people lives and not just feeling like I'm looking at curated content.
Dear Chrissy, your photos are absolutely gorgeous. I find blogging to be enjoyable and therapeutic.
I also use the old way. Although the blog I have now is new...I began at the end of March last year, I had an old blog from 2012 to 2017.
Since I had no computer for over 7 years, I lost access to the old blog.
It's great to have begun blogging again and to reconnect with my former bloggers and to have met new ones.
I am 69 and retired now.
I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your blog and that it makes you happy 😊 to share your posts and connect with others.
Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
I love the old school blogs! (I'm from the days when they were called "online journals") The every day of people living different lives than I is the most interesting in my opinion!
Dear Chrissy, I'm here to say this is YOUR blog, you do what YOU want to do, not what others think you should do! That's always been my philosophy of blogging. It the place God gave you to share your life stories, your faith, your thoughts and dreams and even your disappointments. You never know how what you are saying will be exactly what someone out there will need to hear right at that very moment. So pray before writing, ask God to speak to you and through you, and He will direct your words and thoughts. I love to see pictures and stories that go with them, hear about your daily struggles and joys, your life as a Pastor's wife (something I did for many years, but I didn't have a blog then...didn't even know what a blog was as there probably wasn't such a thing then and I wish I had been able to have one because I can see the potential of what could have been, but it wasn't in God's timing yet). This space is God's gift to you. Use it for His honor and glory. He will bless it and you and those who meet you here. Trust me, authentic you is who you need to be. 'nuff said! (((HUGS))) and prayers.
I agree with Pamela, it is your blog. I have been blogging consistently for 16 years.
I found my best rhythm is 2x a week. Like you I question what the heck do I post about now?? I seem to come up with something each time. I love my blog I have met the nicest people in person and on line. Truly it is my on line journal.
Don't stop blogging now!
Hugs
Cathy
"Old school" blogs are my favorite. Those that highlight homemaking, family, faith, and every day life. I agree that a blog should be an online journal, for the person creating the page.
Although I love connecting, I love the ability to look back at my days the most. Keep doing you, my friend!
Thank you, Cathy, for the encouragement!!
Thank you, Wendi! We have been connected for a long time!!! I sure miss the days of Laine 's Letters!! I am thankful for the copies you sent me.
Hi Chrissy. Thank you for your visit to my blog & taking the time to leave me your sweet, kind comment - I so appreciated it & its lovely to see someone "pop over" from Annabel's blog.
I will start following along with you now as your blog is just wonderful. That looks like such a blue, blue sky in your first pic ... well done on blogging every day for a week! That is such an achievement in my books. Enjoy the weekend Chrissy. xx
Thank you, Julie!! It was such a beautiful day!! It was pretty cold actually but much needed sun! Thank you for coming by!!!!
I've gone through all you've described over the years (I've been at it since 2001) and every time I think I'm done I find that I'm not. I do give in to my ADHD, though, and change up the name and look of my blog from time to time. I'm getting older now, though, so I think what I have is what it's going to be. Still, there are ups and downs to my blogging. Just do what brings you joy.
Good on you blogging every day. I wouldn't worry about feeling outdated, you do you! I enjoy reading your blog because it's real life.
I had been writing The Blue House Journal for years and years. But I was having the same feelings you write about here. Who was I and what was I sharing that could possibly be of interest, etc. And I showed up every day, five days a week for YEARS feeling that way. Hence I started the blog A Fresh Season of Life and I gave up Blue House Journal. But I'm now doing both. The Blue House Journal is me, and A Fresh Season is me and I think both are important because they represent different facets of who I am.
One is homey and chatty and family focused and the other is more thoughtful, less day to day, but deeper. And they BOTH represent who I am both as a woman and a writer.
I'm enjoying your blog...Don't give it up unless YOU want to do so. If you want to write and this is the space where you feel happiest, write here.
Thank you so much for your visit and encouragement!!!
Hi friend!
So today I can feel this post so deeply. I have been through that so many times! Honestly- that's why I've had technical difficulties with my domain connecting, it was connected to an old blog that I abandoned more than once. I have those thoughts too- and sometimes I do fall into the trap of trying to write something interesting so someone would like to read it. But the blogs I enjoy most are the ones like this- the simple day to day blogs. I have LOVED following your blog and I hope you'll keep up with it. I'm working hard to stick with it and not abandon mine again- and that's hard when my tendency is to be all dramatic and jump ship lol.
I get it, completely! I hope you keep on writing, I do enjoy visiting your blog and I am inspired by your posts as well!
Hello Stacy,
I have been trying to find your blog and then I found it but will not allow me to comment. It is blocking me because of cookies. I have tried resetting my cookies but no luck. Just know I am reading.
