The Golden GIRLS~ They are GOLDEN~ Part 2 of Thrifting & Antique Looking

Hello everyone. This is part 2 from my trip this past weekend of thrifting and antique looking at The Lucky Rabbit. Check the PART 1 POST here to understand the magnitude of this place.

They had rooms that took you back in time. Little did I know after I spotted this large cut out poster of these ladies (below) that I would walk into what I would describe the HIGHLIGHT of my day. I was walking this huge building and saw this....

This large (taller than me) cut out poster!!! AND THEN............ I saw a door! My friend knew what was behind the door but did not tell me.

Here is the thing. I grew up watching the Golden Girls on my granny's tv every single night. I still until this day watch the Golden Girls on vacation when there is a TV with cable (I do not have cable tv) and I collect things that I see with them on it occasionally. Last March, I got a Golden Girl crossword puzzle book while on a hiking trip at a store. 😆 Growing up I didn't catch all their "inappropriate humor" I had no idea what they were really talking about. I just seen older women dressing classy, who likes to laugh, and supported one another and they seemed to have a bond like no other group of ladies I have ever met and I wanted that!

Of course, now when I watch the reruns I am like.... "Wow, they were inappropriate."  HAHA!
But I still watch them at times for the memory of them. It takes me back to popcorn or bedtime ice cream at granny's house (who has sense passed on) and cuddling up with a soft blue blanket and laughing with my granny as she laughed at their antics. I had no idea what she was really laughing at, but I loved having that time with her. She would usually have her Merle Norman face mask on which I can feels like I can smell it right now. She would have started her evening face routine and watched with me as I had a bedtime snack.

Oh, to go back to those days. As she aged, she was not the same sadly. So, this show reminds me of the good days.

When I walked through that door I was taken back to a scene so many Americans enjoyed across the television for years. It was literally so close to being identical to the set of the show. I enjoyed it so much.

After all this thrifting, looking and walking we were getting hungry, plus it was beginning to get crowded. We snapped a shot at the Lucky Rabbit Sign and went to check out. I got that plant and milk glass planter I showed in my first post, a special jar of pickles for my husband, a gift for my mom for Mother's Day in May and a wreath. I will show that later on when I decorate for spring.

After a lunch of hamburgers and onion rings we headed to drive back home. On our way there are several produce stands and little roadside shops. LOOK AT THIS PUMPKIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love a good produce store. I picked up a piece of pecan pie for my husband as well as come pickled eggs (yes, I think they are gross, but he loves them) and she got some pepper jelly.

It was a lovely day. That day is done and gone. I am trying to recoup from a bad cold STILL. I ended up having to see a Doctor Monday night and had some medication and ear drops called in. I am still nursing myself. I am praying I begin to feel much better soon. I have a fun and busy weekend ahead. I will say it hopefully involves Alligators! :)

DO YOU HAVE ANY SHOWS THAT YOU WATCHED GROWING UP LIKE I DID with the GOLDEN GIRLS??? Another one I loved was a British T.V. Series that played late at night on PBS called, "Are You Being Served?' and I LOVED IT. Share yours below!!

With love and hopefully until tomorrow,

Chrissy T
