Well.... I had to get out....

I had to leave our home today for someone coming to do some things in the home. I threw on a comfy dress (it is almost a moo moo) and headed to the library. I felt that would be a calm place to go and I could stroll easily and sit if needed. I could also hang out in my car as well. Our library is surrounded by beautiful trees, so it is a really calming place to park. I will be honest I am wiped out from it. I even had a random stranger ask me if I was okay and told me I looked pale and exhausted. LOL!! Well, it was true I suppose.

I did check out a book and for the life of me I cannot remember the name of it. I know that is bad! Haha! I haven't really been able to read because I am so foggy brained but thought I would try to read it.  I have it in a book basket now so I will have to share the name of it later.

I am also trying to wean myself off soda. I love a good coca cola. Sigh. Like daily! Sigh. It is more about the fizz than anything. I just feel like I need it. So, I tried this drink from Aldi called Waterloo. They have a lot of different flavors. I am usually not a fan of flavored sparkling water drinks, but I was so pleasantly surprised that this was so good.

I think it is a nice healthier alternative to help myself wean off sodas. It is definitely not a coca cola, but it has a nice crisp fizz and a good flavor. It will have to do.

I did some laundry, watered some plants, and rested today. I put some meatballs in the crockpot for Italian Meatball Subs for our supper.

Do you like Sparkling Water? Curious if anyone does! If so, what are your favorite brands and flavors?

Until Next Time,

Chrissy T

  1. Yes, I like sparkling water. We have tried different ones, but we seem to always come back to Bubly. But I have to admit that the Waterloo that you have pictured does look appealing. Rest up, my sweet friend.

  3. Dear Chrissy, I love libraries. I like sparkling water. I stopped drinking soft drinks about 4 years ago and you really get used to it and don't miss them.
I have been pre-diabetic for about 10 years now.
Thank you so much for sharing. ❤️

  4. That sparkling water looks very refreshing, though I never drink sparkling water, always still, and plain, for me. I don't drink many fizzy drinks at all.

    1. Maybe that will become the case for me once I break the soda habit.

  6. It sounds like a lovely trip out and the change of scene must have been nice. That is good you have found an alternative to Coca Cola. I am not a fan of sparkling water, I usually drink blackcurrant or orange squash and as a treat a can of Coke.

  7. I used to drink lots of flavored/sparkling waters but have weaned myself off of them so much so that I find I actually do not fizzy drinks now. I mostly just drink plain very cold water with the very, very occasional sweet tea-- that I can really only get on vacation as sweet tea is not a "thing" in New England.

  8. I'm glad you were able to get out for a little while. That should help you not feel so "cabin feverish". Regarding Sparkling Water, etc., I do not drink soda or sparkling water. Occasionally a Ginger Ale or a Root Beer, but very seldom. I drink plain water most of the time, and unsweet tea (with lemon when I can get it), or a cup of hot tea with a scant teaspoon of sugar. I don't do artificial sweeteners, and really don't like sweet drinks, so I just avoid them. However, at least once a year I have to have a Root Beer Float! LOL. Please take care of yourself and by all means take your vitamins or whatever your doctor has recommended. Praying for you each day!

  12. Hi Chirissy, I'm glad you were able to get out and I think that the library is the perfect place! I'm not a fan of bubbly water flavored. I just like plan ol' water with crushed ice!

  13. Sounds like such a lovely little trip out.
Finding a healthier alternative to Coca‑Cola is a great step, even if it’s not quite the same.
I’ve never really taken to sparkling water myself.
I usually stick with plain water, but every now and then, as a treat, I’ll enjoy a can of Coke. 🥤

    1. After a few days I can see I do not like as much as I thought. I may just treat myself to a good ole soda weekly and drink water and ice. :)

  14. I'm not a fan of sparking water. I have given up daily soda. I will only drink a Sprite if I'm not feeling well. Otherwise it's water or sweet tea (which is something I know I NEED to cut out, but I love it!)

  15. Dearest Chrissy, I have not been around in a bit, so I went back and read some of your previous posts to get caught up. I am so sorry you are going through all this. I pray that you will be able to have the surgery, recover and rest, and then be able to continue your blessed and busy life. I wish I lived closer so that I could help you more. This part of life is not discussed as much and when it hits, we can be taken back a bit. I am glad you have the support of your doctors and the love of family. Take care of YOU, my friend!

    1. Thank you Billie Jo. I agree with you this season is not really talked about and I so wished I would have been better prepared mentally. Especially with already having mental health issues.

  17. The library is a good place to go for peace and quiet and just to get away from the crowds. I really miss the library. The blackberry lemonade looks like a refreshing drink. And your Italian meatball Subs sound delicious. Italian is my favorite food!
