Monthly Musings March 2026: Spring Holidays and Fun

Hello everyone! I always look forward to this time of the month!! I love this link up hosted by Patty at Good Better Best Life. Please go visit and check out Patty's post and the other link ups for this month here.

1. Does it feel like spring yet where you are?

Yes!! Things are blooming. It is 85 degrees today. Yes, my air is on because I am perimenopausal. 😝 Hot flashes are not for the weak. LOL!!! But in all seriousness.... yes, we are in FULL SPRING MODE. Pollen, bees, and all.

2. What spring holidays do you celebrate?

I celebrate with my family Palm Sunday, Easter, Mother's Day, and Pentecost Sunday.

I also celebrate our oldest son, Ethan's birthday in April!!! It is a HOLIDAY to US!

3. Any spring trips planned?

I planned to go visit a Botanical Garden soon.

Yes, I hopefully my mom and I will go do our yearly trip in May.

I will also be heading to St. Louis, MO and a neighboring town across the river in Illinois in April for ministry and to visit friends.

I am sure I will throw another hiking or waterfall chasing trip in at some point.

4. Favorite foods to eat and share for spring holidays?

Deviled (Stuffed) Eggs, Banana Pudding, and pasta salad. I also love a good quiche or breakfast casserole this time of year.

5. Are there any spring festivals in your area?

I am sure there are, but I am not a big festival person. I will go to them if they are local and it is something interesting to me. But rare. I may go to one festival a year. I do not like crowds like that. The last festival I went to there was a shooting and that was terrifying. I just have no desire to go to them.

6. Best spring allergy tip?

SURVIVE! LOL. Yeah, I don't know because normally I do NOT have issues with allergies BUT this year they have been very bad causing me two sinus infections and ear infections. I have survived off not opening my windows much which is very sad because it is my favorite thing to do. BUT pollen was literally on my windowsills and getting on my curtains so until it dies down, they will remain closed. I have also used essential oils BUT ended up having to get an allergy pill.

** I do suggest if you can find one.... a Himalayan salt chamber works wonder. They are usually a holistic spa.

7. What makes you think "ok, now it's finally spring?"

I think it would be that the birds get really "musical" and "chirpy" this time of year and pollen all over our cars and porch also says... SPRING!!!

8. Spring rain, love or dislike?

Don't mind it if it's just a few good ones. I do not like rain that last for weeks that makes it so that you can't enjoy the actually spring temp and outdoors.

9. Special spring holiday dessert or treat?

I usually make my special banana pudding

10. Favorite spring cocktail or mocktail?

I do not drink alcohol of any type. I do like a fun alcohol-free mocktail on occasion like once a year, but I don't really have a favorite or know any names of anything to share.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a blessed weekend.

With Love,

Chrissy T

  1. It's not really too Spring feeling here yet. I do see hints of it, but it's supposed to snow again tomorrow. Soon though!
I've with you on festivals and crowds, not a fan.
Banana pudding - sounds so good!

  2. We've had a wonderful Spring week. It will be ending tonight with a thunderstorm. The storm will usher in a cold front. Not worries the warmth will return. The ups and downs are all part of the change of season in the midwest!

  3. Spring is being quite fickle here in WV yet. But that's pretty normal for us in March.

I tried a new recipe for deviled eggs this week, using finely chopped dill pickles and Dijon mustard in the mayo. They were really good.

    Have a wonderful weekend, Chrissy.

  4. It isn't Spring like weather wise, but I am in a northern area...Montreal, Canada. I don't mind, though, I enjoy each day that God gives me no matter what the weather is.

  7. It's too early for pollen season here but I have noticed I've been sneezing for the last few days so I plan to start making my allergy meds today and probably will continue taking them until mid-June.

  8. It was nice to get to know a few things about you, Chrissy. So sorry you had that terrible experience at the last festival you attended. That's so scary. Your banana pudding sounds Yummy. It's starting to feel like spring here too.
