Hey! Hey! It's Friday!! Plans Change!!

Hello friends. As most of you know, I was supposed to be at a goat farm, in a Tiny Home, sipping on coffee by a creek along with hiking and attending a ladies' conference. BUT.....

I am now sitting in an Airbnb apartment with my husband in a whole different state. Actually, I am back in Louisiana for a funeral. Our Assistant Pastor's Wife father passed away. She is also my mentor and friend. We felt we needed to support her during this tough time. So, I had to forgo the conference. I could not get a refund for the Tiny Home sadly BUT they were so gracious and offered me to come next week. Not exactly what I wanted because it is in the middle of the week and it supposed to be pretty cold.

Nonetheless, I will make the best of it and use it as my solo prayer retreat which I had planned for in June but I will just go ahead and do it next week. The Tiny Home is paid for already.

Without further ado... I thought I would share how I ended my week. I got all of my To-do's marked off this week but one, which I will do over the weekend once I get back. It is just an overnighter trip.

On Wednesday I water all my inside plants! I love the way water looks on leaves!! It is the small things in life that make me smile. :)

I also love to use old vintage plates for the base of plants to catch water and to make it a little prettier. Well to me it is.

Do you like indoor plants?? What is your favorite??

I am taking my second ministry course for this year. I just finished one and this one is about to wrap up. They are two-hour live classes, and a small group break out discussion. Today was on the importance of Sabbath. It was so good. I have really enjoyed my cohorts and live teachings.

My DO ONE THING MONTLY GOAL for the physical category was to attend an aquacise class once a week in March. I started last week. I enjoy it. I am the youngest in the class, but I love it. They all love on me and help me learn things. I AM TELLING YOU these classes are NO JOKE!!! It is easier on my joints, but it is a WORKOUT!!!

Thanks for your visit! I hope you have a great weekend ahead!!

With Love,

Chrissy T

  1. Oh wow, yes, I do understand how plans can change in a moment. I am so sorry for your friend and her family, and how wonderful that you and your hubby are able to be with them for the funeral. I am certain they appreciate you both and especially that you will be there for them. I remember many a time that we had to change personal plans when things happened in our church that necessitated our being there...but God always blessed us in other ways. I'm glad you will still get to do your little personal prayer retreat. I hope it all goes as planned. Praying for you as you travel this weekend, etc. Regarding house plants, I really don't have any. They just don't do well in this house...no windows in the right places to put them, and I forget to water them. LOL. But, I do love to put interesting saucers under them when I do have them. And yes, I also love the way water looks on the leaves, etc., but that goes for outside as well! Take care my friend, and be blessed. God is with you.

  2. Sorry for the plans change and most especially for the reason but I am sure she is thankful for your support. I feel that way about my chair yoga class-- I am the youngest by far (so the teacher likes to me challenge me to do a bit more than the others) and yet all the older ladies are so sweet! But I definitely feel like I got an amazing workout in when we're done-- and sometimes even the next day too when my muscles are tired and sore.

  3. So much to make me smile in this post (well, other than the change of plans...and a funeral). But your online courses sound like fun. I would enjoy taking classes but I don't want to go to school, if that makes sense. I love watering my plants. It makes me happy...and I have them all sitting on plates:) I do not water the leaves, though. Perhaps that is something I should look into. I also remember taking a deep water aerobics class once. Oh my heart but that was challenging...and I was much younger then! Oh my. Glad you have had a productive week - and a little getaway to look forward to next week!

    1. Thank you so much, Jennifer for visiting. Oh, yeah, I learned the hard way, just because it is a lot of older women and an older teacher I could be easily fooled. They work harder than I do in that class. They wear me out.

  4. So sorry to hear about your colleague's family member passing away. It's so wonderful how you take it all in stride and adjust your plans. I hope you will still get something wonderful out of your solo prayer retreat time. I love indoor plants but have to watch the kinds to make sure they're safe for our cat Bubba. I love old plates to go under them too! I think plants add such a homey feel. I used to go to a water aerobics class and loved it. It's been ages now though! I sometimes walk in the lake at our cottage and do old exercises we used to do. Blessings on your weekend ahead. xo

  5. Yes plans sure can change in the blink of an eye Chrissie. I water all my plants on a Sunday - not sure why but I do seem to remember to do them on this day. Yes I love indoor plants - my favorite used to be ferns but there is such a world of variety out there now that I don't really have a favorite. Enjoy your short break Chrissie. xx

Good job with your to-do list! I love your plates under your plants. I only have fake plants in my house.

  8. Plans can change in the blink of an eye!
    Your photos are lovely.
I do like plants but I do not have a green thumb and thus do not have any. I am much better with animals...more knowledgeable and I have had cats most of my life. I have also had a few birds over the years (not at the same time as the cats). Canaries, finches and budgies.

  9. Sympathy for your mentor. Sometimes plans do change. I do not grow indoor plants. Never had a green thumb for it. Janice

  10. Sorry for the situation, and good for you for embracing the positives. It is a blessing to her, I am sure. I need to look into the classes! It would force me to get up and move!

    1. Honestly, it has really helped me get out of my home and move a little more. I do walk but sometimes I just need something a tad different. If I overdo the walking I can hurt for days!!! So, this has been a nice balance. Not too much on my body and it has been a nice calm way to exercise but not throw me into major anxiety and its not overly crowded.

  11. I'm sorry that I missed this yesterday. I do love houseplants. At one time, I had 14 African Violets that graced my kitchen windowsill. They were all passed on to others, and now I have only one, along with six geraniums. I also have some Pathos and a Hoya plant. I find such joy in caring for them.

Good for you for accomplishing your goals for the week. May the Lord bless you with a wonderful weekend!
