Valentine Decor & Glassware Decluttering

Happy Friday Friends! I am so thankful to be feeling a little better. I have been so yuck all week. Thursday, I seen a new horizon! Thank the Lord!

I kept myself slow paced because I am still not 100 and kind of "sicky" still but I could not lay in bed any longer mentally or physically. My sciatica was killing me! So, I did a lot of pacing!!! I would putter a tad and sit down and relax a while and then get back up for a minute and putter and sit back down. It was how the day went....

Just a little pop of Valentine Love here and there. I don't go all out anymore. I also like a lot of more neutral colors with a pop of color here and there.

Two of my favorite magazines in this picture above! Yes, I still do get a good ole true magazine. I love Tea Time and the Victoria Magazine. I get the subscriptions as a gift from my mom on my birthday.

I love how the little stuffed hearts turned out in my glass lantern on the center of my coffee table.

I just added some more little stuffed hearts to this kneading bowl for our dining room table for a festive touch. We will have Sunday dinner with a Valentines theme for the young adult kiddos.

Now let's head to the little spot in the kitchen I decluttered! It had just become a mess.

We are gifted A LOT of mugs in the ministry! A LOT!! I simply cannot house all of them. I am not showing nowhere all of them. Because I had already had to remove some.

I also had to purchase some new glassware because ours was just a mess and old. I got these glasses on the bottom shelf from Ikea. I GOT THESE LAST FEBRUARY!!!! I forgot about them and tucked them away and then remembered them!!!! Yes, that is a shame. But IT IS WHAT IT IS!
I got sick when I got back from getting them and then stuck them in a closet and forgot about them forging on with the old and tattered ones.

Boxed up and put in the car for drop off tomorrow at the thrift store.

All finished. It is nothing fancy, but it is orderly and has our favorite mugs. I paired down our mugs to the ones we always love and grab for each person. I put a few seasonal ones up at the top of the cabinet that we recently got as gifts.

Yes, I actually "had" pretty matching cups and mugs BUT we never used them. The handles were awkward so I thought we should only keep those favorite cups and mugs.

These two right here are my husbands and my favorite cups. We will use these over any of the others.
The Seagrove one is mine and the Nasa one is his!

I am glad to have this cabinet done. I worked a little here and there as I rested.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!!!

With Love,

Chrissy T

  1. Your valentine decorations look cute! I haven't done a thing for that, and I need to keep my eyes open for cute little pops like your stuffed hearts. Then I'll have them for next year.
    Hooray for organizing that cabinet!

  2. I'm glad you are up and about. And puttering. It feels good even if you are not 100 percent. Hopefully you will be soon! I love your pops of valentine! Not too much but just enough. And I love the neutral colors. I stopped doing much as the red and pink just did not look good in my home - but I do like a little something:) I hope you have a nice weekend. Feel better!!

  4. I am glad you are feeling a bit better now.
Your Valentine décor is so cute and I really need to sort out our mug cupboard. I have so many favourites that I keep just for the memories, I think I need to box them up and put them in storage.

    1. I just couldn't handle them anymore. I am given mugs ALL THE TIME. I love the gesture, but I can only store and use so many! ;)

    1. Cathy,
I love magazines too! I remember one of my highlights as an older teen and young mom was visiting my grandmother and mom and they always had a table with magazine arranged on them. I loved flipping through them. I used to get a lot more, but I decided to get these two this year.

  7. Cute Valentine's decor. I love hearts. I still have my one prim magazine delivered. In fact just got a new issue the other day. One went digital, so I no longer subscribed. I like a hard copy to read. Janice
