Wonder Filled Saturday ~ Local Book Shop Love, Gourmet Caramel Apples, Supporting Local Small Shops

Hello, Beautiful Friends! Today was a fun day with our oldest son. I actually started early this morning with a friend, hitting up a FREE CHURCH "Yard Sale" followed by hitting the road with our oldest to explore some local shops and get our fall books.

Our oldest is a reader like his mom! We went to lunch first at an old local restaurant called Roosters. We enjoyed grilled chicken clubs and homemade banana pudding. The pudding is made from scratch and it is AMAZING!!!!

Inside this place are all kinds of little small businesses inside the plaza.  We visited a new little shop that has opened up recently called Sweet Tastn'. They sell gourmet caramel apples and a variety of chocolate-covered goodies. We got some treats! I got the apple was fantastic.

We took a little walk and it was so nice. We really enjoyed visiting this little area. It is all vintage and feels like stepping back in time.

After this, we took a trip to a local book shop! I have been there one time and but this was our son's first time, and HE LOVED IT. It is very vintage and speaks all things COZY!!!!!

We got our books to cozy up with a read this fall. I rarely buy a book. I mainly use library pretty much 90% but to make a special day with our son, I made an exception! I am so excited to share the book I purchased. I will once I read it a little to make sure it is appropriate, clean, and cozy!

As a puzzle LOVER...... I want this Jane Austen puzzle!!! They also had an Agatha Christie one!!!!!!!!!!

I love puzzles. I was blessed with 5 puzzles today at the Free "yard sale" today.

We truly enjoyed our day! I love supporting local small businesses when we can. I hope you all had a wonderful day filled with seeing wonder!!!

How was your Saturday?? Did you have some WONDER??

With Love,

Chrissy T

  2. There were all sorts of Yard Sales around me today, but I elected to not go out hunting for something that will yell at me to take it home that I really don't need! lol....I love to read, always have, something my grands care nothing about, however, I seem to have too much that takes up time and reading is not something I do often anymore. As you have seen on my post, my art seems to take up most of my time these days, that and recouping, relaxing and trying to heal daily from my Fibromyalgia. I have to pick and choose what is import on that day. Used to have lots of books but I finally gave them away. I only keep ones that I really like or that are special to me. Thanks for coming by and leaving such nice comments.

  3. This sounds like the perfect day! I love the picture of you two together. I had a quiet day, puttering in the house, made pumpkin bread and prepared for tomorrow. Then our daughter, SIL and grands came over in the evening and we had pizza. A nice night.
    Have a blessed Sunday!

  4. Hi Chrissy, Thanks for visiting my blog. By coincidence I made Banana Pudding today ( and we had it after supper). Also today I got out the first of many jigsaw puzzles that my DH and I will work on this Fall & Winter.
I think having a day with your son was such a lovely time for the two of you. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  8. I like the look of that restaurant! And it seems like such a fun day, but the best part would be the bookstore. I cannot resist a bookstore and a vintage style one, all the better. I don't have the Austen puzzle, but I have the Christie and it's terrific fun!

  9. I have not had banana pudding or a caramel apple in years! What a lovely time you had with your son. I get books free or at the library too.
I am not a puzzle person but my husband is, he saves them until bad weather sets in.
